Bio-Electrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)

Measure body composition

The bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) is a precise and scientifically based method to measure the body composition (muscle, fat, water). The measurement is done lying down by determining the resistance in the body using alternating current. The electricity required cannot be felt and is absolutely harmless. However, BIA measurements are not suitable for pregnant women and people with a pacemaker.

Weight = muscle or fat?

The BMI cannot differentiate between muscle and fat tissue. A BIA measurement shows exactly what the bodyweight is composed of.

Important health values

A BIA measurement reveals important health parameters such as water balance or phase angle.

Success control

Do you want to build muscle? Or lose fat? BIA measurements are ideal for monitoring the success of your individual goals.

What is measured?

  • Body fat in %

  • Body fat mass

  • Fat mass and fat-free mass

  • Muscle mass

  • Total body water

  • Extracellular and intracellular water

  • ECW / TBW ratio

  • Body mass index

  • Determination of physique

  • Basal metabolic rate in kcal

  • Phase angle

  • Body fat distribution

  • Reactance / resistance
