  • Holo-TC (B12) Bluttest | Christina Dengg

Holo-TC (Vitamin B12) Test B12 status The B12 level, which is usually measured in the blood also shows the amount of inactive B12. This value can provide an approximate guide, but it can also be misleading. A potential deficiency might be overlooked. Holo-TC II (holotranscobalamin) value A holo-transcobalamin II (holo-TC) test is recommended when examining the status of active B12 in the blood. The Holo-TC value is measured in the capillary blood. To do this, a little blood is drawn from the fingertip. The sample is analyzed in the laboratory and after a few days the result is available. A short consultation is included in the price of 48 €. B12 - important for many metabolic functions in the body DNA synthesis Breakdown of fatty acids Blood formation Keeping the nervous system healthy Cell division Occurrence in food Vitamin B12 is produced by microorganisms. B12-producing bacteria are found in the intestines of some animals, as well as in the soil and contaminated water. Relevant amounts of B12 are only found in foods of animal origin such as meat, milk or eggs. Certain plant-based foods such as algae (spirulina) or sauerkraut contain either vitamin B12 analogues (inactive forms), very small amounts, or strongly varying amounts of B12. Vegans, vegetarians and omnivores over 50 With a vegan diet, vitamin B12 must be supplemented. Vegetarians are also often affected by an undersupply. People over 50 are also advised to keep an eye on their blood B12 status. The metabolism of B12 becomes more difficult with increasing age due to problems of proportion. B12 deficiency Early symptoms: disruption of cell division in the bone marrow Late symptoms: pernicious anemia, funicolary myelosis B12 deficiency can cause irreversible damage to the nerves and spinal cord.

  • Nutrition in Different Stages of Life | Christina Dengg

Nutrition in Different Stages of Life Pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood or old age - the nutritional requirements and eating habits differ in different phases of life. Diet during pregnancy and breastfeeding The energy need and the requirement for certain vitamins and minerals differ considerably from the requirement before pregnancy. The choice of food and thus the composition of nutrients should be considered carefully during pregnancy in order to ensure optimal care for mother and child. It is also very important to select dietary supplements in a targeted and careful manner. Diet in Childhood and Adolescence A balanced diet in childhood and adolescence is an essential building block for growth, development, health, physical and mental performance. It has a considerable influence on nutritional behavior and the development of diseases in adulthood. When it comes to eating and drinking, children and adolescents have different needs and eating habits than adults. Adults, especially parents, have an important role model function when it comes to eating and can greatly influence the eating habits of children and adolescents. Diet in older adulthood A healthy lifestyle not only allows us to live longer but also with fewer restrictions and illnesses. Diet can have a major impact on the aging process. The energy demand decreases with age while the nutritional requirement remains. This and many other aspects, such as physiological changes, decreasing appetite, side effects of medication, etc., contribute to the fact that it can be difficult to eat appropriately in older adulthood. Nutrient-rich foods and the targeted use of supplements can contribute significantly to better health and quality of life in older adulthood. Especially in sensitive phases of life, we can have a strong influence on well-being, our health and quality of life with a balanced diet adjusted to our individual needs. I want to help you achieve a better life quality through a diet tailored to your needs or lay the foundation for your child's health and healthy eating behavior later in life.

  • About me | Christina Dengg

About me Christina - a nutritionist through and through Hello, I'm Christina, a passionate nutritionist. Training I completed my masters degree in nutritional sciences with distinction. Through various jobs in areas such as weight loss coaching, vegan nutrition and dietary supplements, I have gained a lot of practical experience for my consultations. I am also studying psychology at the University of Vienna, as I am fascinated by the connection between psychology and nutrition. That also helps me to see nutrition and diet changes in a larger context. Interests and Values I love sports, I teach poledance and participate in competitions. Sports nutrition is, therefore, one of my areas of expertise . I see health and nutrition in a holistic context that also includes, for example, the ecological and ethical aspects of nutrition and the psychology of eating. I also like to cook, and I am particularly interested in the vegan cuisine. Science as a Basis I am aware that there is a lot of - sometimes contradicting - information about nutrition. It has always been important to me to really get to the bottom of things and to deal intensively with the scientific evidence behind nutrition. I want to pass this knowledge on in an understandable way. My Goal I want to help people with my nutritional and psychological knowledge to set, implement and maintain their nutrition and health goals. I also want to pass on my knowledge and support people in making healthy decisions with great joy. I would love to get to know you! :) Fortbildungen Mehr Kongresse und Tagungen: Vegmed (2016 & 2018) - Europas größter Kongress für vegane & vegetarische Ernährungsmedizin ÖGE Jahrestagung 2018 – Ernährungstrends, Lebensstil und Sporternährung Fortbildungen: Fettstoffwechselstörungen & Diabetes – Eine Frage der Ernährungsform? • Fatty Acid Analysis | Christina Dengg

Fatty Acid Analysis (incl. Omega-3 Index) Fatty acid analysis With a few drops of blood from the fingertip, your fatty acid profile is analyzed in detail. The sample is sent in and analyzed in an independent laboratory using a standardized, quality-controlled process. The results are available after a few days. The omega-6/3 ratio, the omega-3 index, the trans fatty acid content and 26 fatty acids are determined. This analysis allows determining the individual need for omega-3. Especially the omega-3 index has a very high informative value regarding the prevention and treatment of diseases such as heart diseases and chronic inflammatory diseases. View sample report. (German only) Omega-3 Omega-3 fatty acids, alongside omega-6 fatty acids, have a unique position among the fatty acids, as some of them are essential, i.e. have to be taken in through food. The most important omega-3 fatty acids include alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). We often consume too many omega-6 fatty acids and too few omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio In addition to the absolute amounts of these fatty acids, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is relevant. This should be a ratio of 5:1. In our western society, however, it averages 20:1 or even more. This is problematic for our body, as the omega-6 fatty acids produce inflammation-promoting substances that promote certain diseases. In sensitive phases of life, such as pregnancy, the omega-3 requirement is increased. If we do not consume enough fish, flaxseed oil, walnuts, etc., it can be hard to meet the omega-3 requirement. Do you have any questions about fatty acids, omega-3, or the test? Contact me. • Vegan Nutrition | Christina Dengg

Vegan Nutrition Vegan for 8 years For ethical, ecological and partly health reasons, I have been eating plant-based foods since 2013 and, in addition to in-depth knowledge, I also have many practical tips for you to facilitate your entry into the vegan diet or to make your existing diet healthier. Advantages and stumbling blocks A vegan diet can offer some health benefits, such as preventing diseases such as heart attack or type 2 diabetes mellitus, slowing down the aging process or supporting healthy, long-term weight loss. To achieve these desired effects and defects To be able to prevent, you have to pay attention to a few things in a plant-based diet and be well versed in the subject. Some micronutrients such as iodine or certain long-chain omega-3 fatty acids can be neglected. Vegan diet for sensitive groups For sensitive groups (pregnant women, breastfeeding women, infants, children and adolescents) it is even more essential to ensure an adequate intake of critical micro- and macronutrients or to use appropriate supplements in a targeted manner. Recognized nutrition societies such as the German Society for Nutrition e. V. recommends that sensitive groups seek advice from nutritionists. Regardless of whether it is a vegan diet for children, for sports, for pregnant and breastfeeding women or for adults - a lot of mindfulness and knowledge is necessary. I'll show you how you can eat a vegan diet based on your needs. I want to help you get the most out of your vegan diet so that you feel full of energy, healthy and happy in the long term. B12 supply is often critical for vegans Vegans are strongly advised to supplement with vitamin B12. B12 is only found in foods of animal origin. Vegans, but also vegetarians, should have their holotranscobalamin (Holo-TC, active B12) checked regularly in their blood. Holo-TC (Vitamin B12) test Vegane Ernährung - lecker, gesund und einfach: Veganer Ernährungsguide (c) Pixabay

  • Longterm Weightloss | Christina Dengg

Weight Loss Psychology as a background Losing weight sustainably can be difficult and frustrating. There is so much more to losing weight than just knowing what to eat. My background in psychology helps me find the optimal weight loss strategy for you. Positive point of view It is important that you feel comfortable in your body and achieve a diet that you are happy with, which does not feel restrictive and is good for you long-term. You can achieve your desired weight while feeling in tune with your body and without severe restrictions. Many weight loss programs are designed for short-term success and very often lead to yo-yo effects. This is stressful, unhealthy, and very frustrating for your mind and body. Own experience I myself had problems with binge eating, unwanted weight gain and I tried countless ways to lose weight and failed several times. I know what it is like to think that you will never develop a healthy relationship with food and your body. But now I know that it is possible and that it feels great to be at peace with your body and eating behavior. Therefore, I have a passion for helping others with feeling amazing in their own skin (c) Pixabay
